Founder Story
Hi, I'm Nick Clark and this is why I created Optimal Hydration™.
Like most people, while growing up I’ve had Gatorade and Pedialyte, and later in life I tried Liquid I.V. and many other hydration brands — but all of the products had too many problems: too salty, too sweet, too artificial, weird aftertaste, unbalanced formulas, and not a well-rounded approach to hydration.
I kept asking myself why something as basic as hydration had become so complicated. Hydration shouldn't be this difficult. But every product I found was built for an extreme, not for real life.
So I decided to fix it.
Where It Really Started
I wasn't in a lab. I was in my bedroom — with ingredients, scales, measuring tools, and notes full of information.
This is where it started. No fancy lab. Just me, a laptop, and a stupid amount of determination.
Optimal Hydration™ didn't start as a company, it started with me wanting something that:
- Actually hydrated me
- Didn't taste like ocean water
- Didn't cause stomach discomfort
- Was a formula built for everyone at any time, not just extremes (like running marathons or hangovers)
- Felt more authentic
The first people who tried it weren't influencers, they weren't professional formulators creating a product to sell. They were my family and friends.
Once I got into the process of creating a formula I realized there were many more issues with popular hydration formulas than I initially realized. So it became my goal to create a solution and after I finished the formula and loved it and let my family and friends try it, I knew that this was something truly special.
